The internationally acclaimed 20-piece Compaq Big Band is back at Rockafellas for their 4th Annual Holiday Dinner Show Sunday evening December 13th. Rockafellas is a GREAT restaurant and music scene in the heart of downtown, historic Salem, MA. Our music program will consist of our great seasonal/Christmas charts from Stan Kenton, Tom Kubis, and Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, along with traditional jazz favorites. Band plays 6:30pm-10:00pm. Seating begins at 6:00pm. Tickets for dinner buffet with table seating are $38 BY ADVANCE RESERVATION ONLY - call (978)745-2411. Children 10 and under are FREE.  Cover for bar seating with no dinner is $5. No regular menu will be served.  All ages welcomed. Small dance floor, but most of the charts are concert numbers.  Check out www.rockafellasofsalem.com.

And remember, we'll have our CD "Bandwidth" at the gig. You can buy them on the Internet, too - just go to www.compaqbigband.com.

The Compaq Big Band has kept New England swingin’ since 1975, with a big band repertoire that begins with honoring the classics from the ‘30s and 40’s as performed by the bands of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and other greats. They balance instrumental charts and horn features with vocal numbers such as those popularized by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Bobby Darin, Frankie Randall, Nancy Wilson, Diane Schuur, and many more.

But standards are merely a terrific base for a truly complete big band. The Compaq Big Band complements these arrangements with the best swing charts from the ‘50s right up through the hottest big bands of today. They believe that music from the bands of Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson, Tom Kubis, Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, and more are a vital part of what dancers and listeners alike want to hear.

The Compaq Big Band showcases the power of 14 horns, a cookin’ rhythm section, a great feature vocalist, and terrific instrumental soloists.

As a special offer to fans of the Compaq Big Band you'll get a discounted rate of just $33 by asking for "The Saloky Deal" (no, I didn't make that one up...) when you call!
