The Swing Legacy returns to Swing
City this Friday! Plus, West Coast in the Annex!
Acclaimed to be the "Best l'il band in Boston",
we're pleased to welcome this Swing City favorite back
for what looks to be another great night of dancing over
at Springstep! Also, our popular "Annex" dance
features West Coast this week.
By the way, did you catch Ricky King Russell last week?
Knock-Out performance! We'll have them back often.

Venue Update: As you may know, we'll
be moving again on Sept. 12. We have to possible venues,
one near Sullivan Square (not far from Springstep), and
one near Watertown Square. Both are very nice, have full
bars and have tons of parking. Sullivan Square is T-accessible,
but Watertown is bigger and more versatile. If you have
an opinion, let me know. We'll be announcing the decision
next week!
One little editorial: I've gotten word
from several bands that some of our competitors are forcing
bands to cancel gigs they've booked with us, on account
of somewhat closely scheduled appearances at their own
venues. While the competition is entitled to choose any
tactics they want to get an edge, I personally think that's
abominable. The swing bands in this area include a lot
of professional musicians who make a chunk or even all
of their living playing, and they ought to gig whenever
they can or want. As it is, the prices bands charge the
swing scene are deeply discounted over much more lucrative
"corporate gigs", and most of the bands we get
have worked hard with Swing City and others for over a
decade to establish the Swing scene we have to begin with.
JMHO! [end of pontification]
