This Week's Update

Swing City Continues to "regrow" after all the relocation maddness! Thanks for all who have been supporting us. It also appears that one of the other competing Friday night swing dances is closed for the balance of October, so hopefully we'll accelerate that trend. Wrote one person about last week:

Velvet Elvis was the BEST band that I've heard in a long time! Every dance was danceable and it seemed that everyone had a great time. Very good mix of fast and slow songs. Please past this compliment on to the band; I hope that you have them play again.

That only goes to show that while no band can please all the people all the time, our bands certainly can please most people most of the time. Thanks for writing! (If you have comments of your own about any night, we'd love to have them! Please let us know by email or on the forum.)

Soo...! This Friday we have the Swing City debut of Roger Ceresi's All Starz, definitely a seasoned swing band. Additionally, ever sweet and popilar Dee and John Soares are back in the Annex for Country 2-Step/California Mix! We hope you'll join us tonight.

And... please invite all your friends! Word of mouth is our best advertising.

Getting there: Quite a few people have griped about finding the City Club. I ask them how they got there, and they all say, "I used my GPS". BAD IDEA. Trust me, it's REALLY EASY if you just follow our directions. We're just off the higway. Please don't use your GPS!! It will take you on the scenic shortcut. For those people coming from western 'burbs, just take Mass Pike to I-93 North, take exit 28, make a left, and left again at the second light, and park. It's maybe 10-15 minutes from Newton Corner.

Swingin' at the Hyatt: Get your tickets now!
Friday, October 24, "Swingin' at the Hyatt" returns!

Workshops, Beantown Swing Orchestra, and of course the great dance party. Hyatt Regency, Cambridge, Presidential Ballroom.
All the details

The new place is the Somerville City Club, at 20 Innerbelt Road, Somerville (map). It's adjacent to the Holiday Inn near Sullivan Square, directly off I-93 and 3 blocks from the Orange Line. There are also a bunch of convenient buses that come through, ample parking, our "Annex", and of course... a FULL BAR. For those that drove to the Greek Church from I-93, you probably went right past it on Washington St. In fact it's only a little over a mile away from the Greek Church location and a few miles down the highway from Springstep.
