Friday,
June 13: Mike Wyatt Quartet
with Instructors/DJs "Tony and Aurelie"
of
Hop to the
Beat |
Dear Swing City Patrons!
Last Friday with Compaq Big Band was yet another night to
remember at the new Swing City, with nearly 200 in the house
and fabulous music. It was touted as one of our best nights
yet, a trend that is certainly continuing. Thanks to all
that were there, and to Al Saloky and the Band for a tremendous
show!
This week, WE ARE OPEN!! If you have a flyer,
this week's entertainment isn't listed per se and that confused
some people.
Nevertheless... the Mike Wyatt Quartet will
be in the house, a group that spawned off of the Beantown
Swing Orchestra. A bunch of us heard them at a more recent
event and were absolutely floored, so we booked them right
away. These guys can _swing_!
Also, Tony and Aurelie will be back up this
week teaching the beginner swing lessons with an advanced
move at the end, and also DJ'ing the breaks for you.
See you Friday for another fun night of dancing,
socializing, music, and drinks!

More Highlights:
- Doors open at 7:30, dancing until 1am
- FULL BAR (valid 21+ ID to drink)
- Ample free lot-parking
- Great dance floor, fabulous sound, and superb ambiance
in the "Swing City Ballroom"
Appeal to our Patrons: Please support
the bar. As Swing dancers we all know we're not
a "drinking crowd", but the host venue really
does depend on beverage sales (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
to keep the rent and hence the cover charge affordable.
We are privileged to have this nice hall, so if you have
the means, please try to patronize the bar with a modest
$5 in food & beverage purchases. The hall is run by
volunteers and 100% of the bar's profit goes to support
the church's expenses in having us there.
What people are saying:
"It was one of the best swing dances
I have attended in well over a year (and I dance several
times a week)."
"Nice people all w/good intentions. From the
person at door to anyone I would ask questions; all have
positive, upbeat(no pun intended) attitudes. And this love
of Swing Dancing is obvious by all assistance kindly offered
and rendered. Five Stars."
